Camera Obscura

1. Yes, I was able to construct a light proof box.

2. When I moved the frame closer to the opening of the box, the images were blurrier, larger, and less clear. However, when I moved the frame closer to the pinhole, the images were clearer, smaller, and easier to make an image out of the light.

3. A challenge that we faced when constructing this project was that the viewing box was too big when we first constructed it. Additionally, it took a couple attempts to measure a perfect frame to fit inside the box.

4. What we would do differently is to have more precise measurements when constructing the box. We miscalculated a couple times and it caused us to make adjustments.

5. The light that entered through the pinhole would take longer to travel when the frame was farther away and would make the images appear larger. While when the frame was closer to the pinhole, the light would hit the frame faster and appear at a normal size.

6. We worked together perfectly. There was no conflict and worked as a team.

3 Interesting Facts About The History of Photography

1. The daguerreotype processed was patented by France and was free to the rest of the world and England was the only country that was not allowed to use it because they did not have the patent. This is interesting because it's surprising that such a big market of people in England were cut off from being able to access photography just because one simple patent.

2. The daguerreotype and callatype were all originals and they could not make copies. This is interesting because this forced people to be perfect on the first attempt and even if people wanted a copy, they had to go through a tedious process to recreate a photo. This just makes me appreciate the technology that we have today because it was a lot more difficult to do simple things that we take for granted today.

3. The Brownie Number One by Kodak only cost $1. This is interesting because this made it possible for so many people to have access to photography. This made photography easily accessible to everyone. The creation of this basically revolutionized photography because it made photography so simple and easy for everyone around the world.
